Israel Offers $5 Million Reward for Return of Hostages in Gaza
According to a recent statement from his office, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel is offering a reward of five million dollars to anyone who can successfully facilitate the return of a hostage from Gaza. This announcement was made during a video filmed in the Gaza Strip.
“We will continue to do this until we find them all: dead and alive,” Netanyahu proclaimed. He further assured that whoever aids in returning a hostage will be safely escorted out of Gaza, along with their family. This is part of a broader strategy to locate and bring back hostages held captive in Gaza. The Prime Minister stressed that Israel will not give up on this mission until they find all the hostages.
Netanyahu’s Declaration in Gaza Strip
The Prime Minister’s statement was made while he was outfitted in a military helmet and bulletproof vest, in the Israeli army-controlled Netzarim corridor in the northern Gaza Strip. He warned that anyone who dares to harm their hostages is considered dead.
Accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz, Netanyahu reiterated that one of the objectives of their war is to ensure that Hamas does not govern in Gaza. “We are also making efforts to locate the hostages and bring them back. We are not giving up. We will continue to do so until we find them all: dead and alive,” the Israeli prime minister said.
Unprecedented Attack in October 2023
In a historical assault by the commandos of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on October 7, 2023, 251 people were kidnapped on Israeli territory. Of these, 97 remain hostages in Gaza, with 34 having been declared dead by the army. The Israeli government remains committed to bringing all hostages back home, dead or alive.
